You might remember that MultiVersus was first announced as a free-to-play title, and the good news is this: it still is a free experience!

That being said, there are ways to give MultiVersus your money if you want to — there are optional microtransactions in the game, as well as a Founder's Pack bundle that gets you a few different goodies.

One of the perks of the Founder's Pack was early access to the open beta, meaning that paying customers did get a bit of a head start on the rest of us. Keep on reading to learn more.

Is MultiVersus free?

Yes, MultiVersus is now free!

Everyone can try it out on PC, PlayStation and Xbox as of 26th July 2022, when the free-to-play open beta launched on those platforms.

Prior to this open beta starting, some players chose to buy the MultiVersus Founder's Pack that entitled them to early access (and various digital goodies). But that paid beta stage is over now — anyone can jump in and play for free!

The MultiVersus Founder's Pack is a paid-for product that comes with a number of digital perks for players, as well as offering early access to MultiVersus ahead of the open beta.

As you can see above, there are three different versions of the Founder's Pack - the more you're willing to spend, the more virtual goodies you will receive, but every different version could've given you the early access.

The MultiVersus price for the Founder's Packs seems to be £32.99 for the Standard Edition, £49.99 for the Deluxe Edition, or £79.99 for Premium Edition.

MultiVersus is not planning to release on Nintendo Switch, so don't go looking for the Founder's Pack on the eShop!

And don't forget that you only have to buy it if you want to, because everyone can currently play MultiVersus for free.
